Traveling with Jewelry: Tips & Tricks

The sun is shining more, which means you are probably planning a vacation! Whether you are going to the beach or traveling to Europe we want to make sure you have all the tips and tricks for traveling with jewelry. In this blog post, we will share all the valuable tips on how to travel with your favorite jewelry pieces.

What type of jewelry should I take on my vacation?

First, let’s talk about what type of jewelry you should take. You’ll want a mix of classic everyday looks and some fun pieces to make going out extra fun. Here is the list we recommend you follow:

  1. Classic gold hoops (or silver): these need to be earrings that can be worn everyday and with any outfit. Our Suzie Rectangle Hoops or Courtney Square Huggies are perfect for this.
  2. Bold Earrings: if you plan to go out for a fancy dinner or event, you’ll want to make sure you pack a pair of fun bold earrings to pair with the dress you’ve been saving. We recommend these abstract hoops.
  3. Basic chain necklace: if you don’t already have a favorite chain necklace you need to get one now. These looks great with your swimsuits or paired with your favorite charm necklace.
  4. Rings: You can’t forget your favorite rings. Take a few simple ones for everyday and 1 or 2 bold ones for a night out.
  5. Bracelets: basic chain bracelets are best for vacation. Make sure they are gold filled so you never have to take them off.

Overall, we like to make sure we have mostly everyday jewelry pieces with a few fun ones mixed in. And make sure you are wearing gold jewelry that is water resistant so you can wear them in the pool, ocean, and shower.

How to Pack Jewelry For Your Vacation?

Packing jewelry can be a bit tricky, but is crucial to prevent tangling, damage, or loss. A travel jewelry box can be extremely helpful when traveling. If you don’t have a travel jewelry organizer you can use a pillbox, mint tin, zip-lock bags, or a harper green bag to help separate pieces. A few additional things that can help you pack your jewelry:

  • Connect your earrings so they stay together and don’t tangle with other pieces
  • Thread your necklaces through a straw to keep them from tangling
  • Wear you jewelry on the plane or during your drive to keep it safe

Traveling with jewelry doesn't have to be a cause for concern. By following these practical tips, you know exactly what to take and can protect your pieces without worry. Remember to pack thoughtfully, organize your jewelry, and keep it secure during transit and at your accommodations. Traveling with jewelry can be a stylish and enjoyable experience, enhancing your personal style while creating lasting memories.
